NADRA gets int’l certificate in Software Engineering

Islamabad—The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has become the first-ever Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) certified organisation in the public sector of the country.
NADRA has been appraised successfully for CMMIr-Dev, Maturity Level 2 of Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI), Carnegie Mellon University, USA, said a press release here Friday.
The Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI), Class ‘A’ was conducted, Project Management, Software Development and Quality Assurance activities were found to be in accordance with the laid down processes.
Chairman NADRA, Brig (R) Saleem Ahmed Moeen said, “CMMI represents a major step forward for our organization in particular and for Pakistani IT Industry in general.
This is indeed a hallmark achievement and a milestone for us.
He said NADRA has always laid great emphasis on delivering quality solutions and services by employing innovative technology and the best global practices using indigenous talent and manpower.
Farhan Mirza, SEI USA’s lead appraiser in Pakistan said, “Quality Assurance Institute (QAI) congratulates NADRA for achieving this momentous milestone of CMMIr-Dev Maturity Level 2.
“We are impressed with NADRA’s commitment to continuous process improvement.”
CMMI certifications have been initiated and sponsored by Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) to boost the image of Pakistani IT industry and export of IT Solutions.
CMMI achievement had earned an additional place for NADRA in the elite group of the CMMI certified global companies.—APP
