FPCCI denies report for closing down its R&D cell.

Karachi—The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry
has no intention to close down its R&D Cell at FPCCI Head Office.
This was stated by Mr. Zubair F. Tufail, Acting President FPCCI who
categorically denied the report appearing in yesterday’s Newspaper
about the closer of R&D Cell of FPCCI. He declared the report
totally wrong and baseless.
He further stated that the R & D Cell was performing entirely
satisfactory and had initiated several mega projects in the current
year all relating to business activities which on completion would
benefit the economy. In the past the R&D Cell has accomplished
several projects successfully, organized seminar and conferences on
different subjects, Zubair further added.
He further informed that R&D Cell had made excellent work in the
past and recently it has made proposals for the Federal Budget which
have been presented to Ministry of Finance for consideration. Mr.
Zubair said, FPCCI is considering further up-gradation of the R&D
Cell by inducting new economists to undertake further projects while
Library of FPCCI is also being modernized which will be equipped
with modern tools and to be connected to all leading libraries
world-over benefiting and updating the business community about the
recent development and current economic changes.
He further added, in the current economic scenario R&D Cell of FPCCI
is playing its due role which will continue with all support and
resources.
