London—Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman
Asif Ali Zardari and chief of the Pakistan
Muslim League-N (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif held
inconclusive meeting on judges restoration at
undisclosed place here on Friday.
Talking to media persons after meeting Nawaz
said Zardari wants more time to think, “We are
bound till May 12”, said Nawaz.

exporting British Pound, Euro and Dirham,

Karachi—The government on Friday freed Sardar
Akhtar Mengal, chief of the Balochistan National
Party (BNP), after one-and-half-year in jail
over the charges of beating and making hostage
agents of army intelligence agency, officials
said. Mengal was released from a Karachi
hospital which was declared as sub-jail.

New York—The Pentagon has canceled the
assignment of a controversial American general
to a top position in Pakistan after the
Pakistani media excoriated him for his previous
job as commander of the US prison at Guantanamo
Bay, The New York Times reported Friday.
Tehran—A trilateral meeting between
representatives of Afghanistan, Iran and
Pakistan concluded in Tehran with agreement on
measures to strengthen border cooperation
between three countries in order to stem flow of
drugs from Afghanistan.
