Islamabad—The Pakistan Telecommunication
Authority (PTA) Friday reduced Mobile
Termination Rates (MTR) by around 30 percent.
The Authority announced the cost-based
interconnection (termination) charges for
fixed-line as well as cellular mobile operators
would be effective from June 1.

(OCAC) on Friday termed the news reports
appearing in press recently on the subject of
“refineries’ pricing formula,” as misleading and
contrary to the factual situation. “These
reports are misleading and do not reflect
situation,” says a press release from the Oil
Companies’ Advisory Committee (OCAC).

Kaira has said that government is committed to
providing an enabling environment for an
accelerated growth of IT, human resource and
industry.
Lahore—The present devaluation trend of the Pak
rupee is creating panic among trade and industry
quarters in the country. PPP leader Samiullah
Durrani in a statement here Friday said that
this trend must be arrested immediately
otherwise it will be disastrous for the national
economy, and asserted that the State Bank of
Pakistan is not playing its due role to control
the situation.
