Special persons’ industrial training certified by LABARD

Lahore—A number of disabled persons have successfully completed a training course in industrial stitching with the help of Lahore Businessmen Association for Rehabilitation of Disabled (LABARD) here. A certificate-giving ceremony was held which was jointly chaired by LABARD President Pervaiz Malik. LABARD and LCCI President Mohammad Ali Mian. LABARD Senior Vice President Mian Nusrat-ud-din, Joint Secretary Madiha Aijaz, Finance Secretary Mohammad Saeed Khan,governing body members Naghmana Javaid and Laila Nusratuddin were also present on the occasion.
Addressing on the occasion, LABARD president said that rehabilitation of disabled persons is a sacred job and everybody should come forward to play his role.
He said that the LABARD was getting a very good response from the registeration camps it was holding at union council level. “In the developed world, the special persons are provided every possible facility to lead active life.In Pakistan a large number of disabled persons are running their own businesses with the help of LABARD.”
LCCI President Mohammad Ali Mian said that all the businessmen should at least accommodate one disabled person in thier factory or office to address this social obligation”. According to a news release, LABARD has also arranged jobs for these disabled persons with an objective to give them courage to lead active life despite their physical disability. LABARD is soon coming up with a state-of-the-art training center in Lahore where the disabled persons would not only be imparted training in various faculties but arrangements would also be made for their placements in different organizations. A number of services including medical assistance, counseling of mentally disabled persons, speech therapy, Qarz-e-Hasana and crutches, tricycles are being provided absolutely free of cost.
