IMS training programme for CAA employees held

Rawalpindi—Civil aviation authority has embarked upon a journey to
acquire International Standards of Integrated Management System.
During a phased programme, CAA intends to certify all its Airports and
locations against these standards which include ISO-9001: 2000
(Quality Management System), ISO 14001: 2004 (Environmental Management
System), and OHSAS 18001: 2007 (Occupational Health and Safety
Management System) standards.
A two day training programme of International Standards of Integrated
Management System (IMS) was launched at Islamabad International
Airport on Tuesday.
The participants includes CAA officers and staff of Islamabad
International Airport and employees located at different locations
i.e. staff of project of New Islamabad International Airport, Radar,
Works Division, Flight Inspector (N), General Engineering Depot.
located at Lehtrar Road Rawalpindi.
Anwar Hussain Syed, Principal Management Adviser of Asian Institute of
Management Skills (AIMS) conducted the training sessions. The trainer
emphasized the need to acquire the pre-requisite of ISO Certification
as well as the basic knowledge and objectives of International
Standards of Integrated Management System.
The participants took keen interest to know about this programme. At
the end of every session, questions were raised by the participants
and the answers were given by the trainer as well as by Engr. Sumair
Saeed, PSO to DGCAA. Such kind of healthy and fruitful activities will
definitely improve the skills and efficiency of the employees of Civil
Aviation Authority.
