Islamabad—Ericsson’s technology and thought
leadership in Pakistan Telecom Industry
continues to thrive as the 3G-Taking You Forward
Roadshow has arrived in Lahore and Islamabad.
For the first time in Pakistan, telecom
stakeholders have the opportunity to experience
virtual 3G applications. Ericsson is playing
host to more than 300 representatives from
telecom operators, regulators and media of
Pakistan. The Roadshow aims at showing the
business opportunity for 3G and at creating
awareness and simulating richer user experience
with mobile broadband.
Karachi—A trade delegation led by President
FPCCI, Mr. Tanvir Ahmad Sheikh, visited the
Czech Republic on 4-7 May 2008. The visit was
follow-up of the Memorandum of Understanding on
Cooperation between FPCCI and Chamber of
Commerce of the Czech Republic signed during the
visit of the Czech Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Mirek
Topolanek to Pakistan in May last year.
Islamabad—Mobilink, the leader in cellular
communication with more than 30 million
customers and part of Orascom Telecom, recently
sponsored the Qaqlasht Festival in the
picturesque Chitral. Attendance at the festival
numbered in thousands with people coming from
all over the country and abroad. The festival is
named after the Qaqlasht plateau which is
approximately 14 km long and 4 km wide, situated
to the right of the Hindu Kush range in Northern
Chitral. The Qaqlasht Festival is a famous
cultural and from April 25-27 included matches
of Freestyle Polo, Football, Cricket and
Tug-of-War. Various stalls of dry fruits, honey,
and local handcrafts were also present.
Peshawar—The NWFP Governor, Mr. Owais Ahmed
Ghani, while welcoming the visiting delegation
of Turkish Businessmen at Governor’s House,
Peshawar on Wednesday, has said that both
Pakistan and Turkey have a long association and
there exists vast potential to have more
meaningful relationships especially in the
fields of trade and industrialization.
Talking to the delegation, which was led by a
prominent Businessman of Turkey, Mr. Rasim Oz on
this occasion, the Governor said that despite
directly experiencing severe fall outs of 30
years long Afghan War, the economy of our
country is in the growing trend for quite some
time, which provides sufficient source for
making successful entrepreneurship in every
discipline of trade and business.
