NIP will continue to facilitate unemployed graduates: DG

Islamabad—National Internship Programme (NIP) is heading on smoothly and it will continue its operations to facilitate fresh and unemployed graduates by imparting them training in different fields.

“The programme has been helping the youth to acquire additional knowledge and skills which will enable them get respectable jobs in the future,” Director General NIP Ashiq Hussain Abbasi told APP here on Monday. He dismissed the news reports appearing in a section of press that the Government has stopped the NIP, which can make future of interns uncertain in the country.

“The programme is going on successfully in shaping the future of youth and it will continue in future as well,” he remarked

It merits a mention here that programme is in operation as per approved schedule and the interns of NIP 2007 placed with various public sector organizations are currently working under the federal and provincial governments. They are being paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 10,000 which will continue till completion of their one year’s internship programme, the DG said.—APP
