Shujaat will remain PML-Q Chief : Muqam

Peshawar— Deputy opposition leader in the National Assembly and PML-Q NWFP Chief, Engr Amir Muqam said here that there was no program to change the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League, saying that Ch Shujaat Hussain are enjoying full support of the party.

“The rumors about changing the leadership of PML-Q are only limited to media and there is no truth on it,” he told a public meeting at the residence of Haji Sattar Khan here in provincial capital.

Mr. Muqam said that gas and electricity projects worth billions of rupees had been started in Peshawar during PML government while 192 tube wells were approved for the betterment of common man.

He claimed that unfortunately, the government has stopped work on these projects despite the fact that the required amount had been submitted to the concerned departments to start these projects. He warned that people would come on roads if work on these mega schemes were not started within a week.

The PML stalwart urged the coalition government to start new projects for the socio-economic betterment of down trodden people. Muqam while thanking people of NA-4 constituency for voting him during last general election, assured that every efforts would be made to provide them all basic necessity of life at their doorsteps.

He asked the party workers and leaders to come forward and play their due role in strengthening the founding party of the country. —APP
