Delegations of PYO, PSF call on CM
Youth, students are assets of PPP: Qaim
Karachi—Chief Minister and President PPP Sindh, Syed
Qaim Ali Shah has said that youth and students are the PPP’s assets.
“Their responsibilities have grown after the elections and they have
to work hard to solve the problems of people”, he said in separate
meetings with delegations of PPP Sindh Youth Organization and
Peoples Students Federation at Chief Minister House on Sunday night.
They have to serve the people and a lesson in this regard they have
inherited from Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, he
said and added that on one hand we have expectations from the party
while on the other party has the same from us.
He pointed out that present government is making efforts on priority
basis to end unemployment while Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza
Gilani has already made a policy announcement.
Qaim Ali Shah informed that advertisements have been published in
newspapers for lower grade jobs in the health and education
departments and applications thereof are being received.
He said that it has been decided to launch a six month training
program for jobs for unemployed youth during which the Inter passed
youth would be paid Rs 4000 and graduates and post-graduates Rs 6000
per month. He said on completion of training they will be sent
abroad.
He recalled that Shaheed Z.A. Bhutto had sent thousands of workers
and youth abroad for jobs during his government while Prime Minister
Yousuf Raza Gilani had announced that at least one family member in
each house would be provided job. “It is the responsibility of all
of us to strive for a better life for poors and elimination of
unemployment”.
He declared that a significant change will take effect during the 5
year tenure of awami rule and people would march towards prosperity
and progress.
The meeting was informed that besides holding monthly meetings, the
Youth Wing will also organise a seminar every month in relation to
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and first seminar will be held in Karachi
while a cricket tournament will be organised in Hyderabad in memory
of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
It was informed that Peoples Youth Wing has installed two electric
water coolers at the mazar of Shaheed Quaid Benazir Bhutto.
Besides Provincial Minister Rafiq Engineer, the meeting was attended
by Advisor Rashid Rabbani, PPP leaders Nafis Siddiqi, Waqar Mehdi,
Faisal Raza Abidi, central President Youth Wing Ajiz Dhamrah, Senior
Vice-President Bashir Memon, General Secretary Akram Iqbal, Tanvir
Arain, Yasin Sehar, Akhtar Panhwar, Fida Hussain Dhakkan, Sharif
Mirani (Larkana), Qazi Abdul Sami (Sukkur), Ahsan Ali Abro
((Hyderabad), Amir Shah (Karachi Division), Tharo Khan Panhwar (Mirpurkhas)
and Saeed Ghani (Karachi).
The 12-member delegation of Peoples Students Federation was led bits
Central President Suleman Dashti. Earlier fateha was offered for the
departed soul of Shaheed Quaid Benazir Bhutto.—APP
