Sindh govt plans to remove PSC chief, members

Karachi—Sindh government has decided to remove chairman Public Service Commission (PSC) and other members appointed by the caretaker government.

Arrangements for formation of a 4-member committee led by chief minister Sindh have been finalized to take interview from the prospective candidates for selection of new chairman and members of the commission.

The other members of the committee are senior minister Pir Mazhar ul Haq, law minister, Ayyaz Soomro and chief secretary Sindh.

The Committee will hold interviews of technocrats and other competent person on May, 13. Final schedule of the interviews will be issued within a few days. Name of selected chairman and members will be announced on May 14.

Law Minister Sindh Muhammad Ayyaz Soomro told Online the powers for formation of PSC have been transferred from governor to chief minister, therefore, the commission will be reconstituted.—Online
