First Ombudsman Justice Sardar Iqbal passes away

Lahore— Pakistan first Ombudsman and former Chief Justice Lahore High Court Mr. Justice Sardar Muhammad Iqbal passed away here on Sunday. He was 86.

He has left two sons Sardar Shahid Iqbal, Sardar Qadir Iqbal, two daughters and a widow.

His Nimaz-e-Jinaza would be held at 9-Justice Sardar Iqbal Road (adjacent Zafar Ali Road) Monday, at 08.00 am.

On hearing about the death of Mr. Justice Sardar Muhammad Iqbal, Chief Justice Lahore High Mr. Justice Sayed Zahid Hussain and a number of other serving as well as retired judges of apex court reached his residence.

As per tradition and in recognition of his services, Lahore High Court Principal Seat, its benches at Multan, Rawalpindi and Bahawalpur as well as all the civil and sessions courts throughout Punjab will remain closed on Monday, May 05.
