Modern Marvi Cultural Complex to be built: Sindh

Mithi—:Provincial Minister for Culture, Tourism and
Youth Affairs, Sassui Palejo, has said that a modern Marvi culture
complex would be constructed on behalf of her Department with the
facilities of an auditorium, a library and other relevant
requirements.
She said this while speaking at a Adabi seminar, held here under the
agies of Culture and Tourism Department on the eve of Marvi
Festival.
Sassui Palejo appealed to the literate persons of Sindh to come
forward and promote the culture and history of Sindh. She said the
role of Marvi forms a history for the civilization of Sindh.
She said Shaheed Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto, was the Marvi of 21
century and her sacrifices could never be forgetten because she
always raised voice against cruelty, injustice and she worked for
betterment of downtrodden people of the country.
Sindh Minister for Culture announced establishment of cultural and
historical societies in each district of the Sindh and said after
establishment of thses societies the people of Sindh, specially the
new generation would get a deep knowledge of history and culture of
the Sindh Province. Sassui Palejo suggested that now the use of term
“Interior Sindh” should be stopped because Karachi is also in Sindh
province and the concept of Upper Sindh, Interior Sindh and Karachi
should be removed.
She said a law is under consideration for handing over all the
historical places to the Sindh Culture and Tourism Department from
the federal government and in this regard a feasibility report has
been completed.
The Provincial Minister said that for providing entertainment and
facility to the visitors a beautiful park and modern huts would be
constructed below the mountain of Nagarparkar soon.
On this occasion famous writer Dr. Ghulam Ali Allana said in the
period of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhatto an International seminar was
held on the culture of Sindh in which about 90 foreign scholars had
participated. He said there is greater need to work on the role of
Marvi and the Thari people.
Provincial Secretary for Culture and Tourism Shamsul Haq Jaffrani
said after a passage of 30 years, the present government has for the
first time organised a Marvi Festival in the native village of Marvi
“Bhallwa” and this Festival will now be organized in Bhallwa every
year. On this occasion writers, intellectuals, columnists including
Agha Saleem, Professor Qalandar Shah Lakyari, Shoukat Hussain Shoro,
Taj Joyo, Inam Shaikh, Arbab Nek Muhammad, Apa Nazeer Naz, Professor
Noor Ahmad Jinjhi, Amar Sindhu, Man Mohan Giyani and others also
spoke in the Seminar.—APP
