Deptt of Petroleum labs at NED start functioning

Karachi—Three laboratories at the Department of Petroleum at the NED University of Engineering and Technology have started functioning, the Chairman of the Department said.

He stated that the chief executive of S.S. International, Waqar Yousuf, performed the inauguration.

The S.S. international is a private sector firm that has made available Rs. 18 million for the construction of the lab building for NED University’s Department of Petroleum Engineering.

As many as three labs are now fully functional at the building, the Chairman of the Department, Dr. Abid Murtaza Khan, said.

Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of NED University, Engr. Abul Kalam, said that his institution has established the Department of keeping in view that requirements of the country as well as the industry.

He thanked all those who contributed towards the provision of such a facility. The chairman of the Department, Dr. Abid Murtaza Khan, said that the enrolment of all the batches at the Department of Petroleum Engineering is about 135.—APP
