APDM decides to sit on opposition benches in Senate

Staff Reporter

Islamabad—All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) on Friday decided to become a part of opposition in the Upper House of the Parliament.

The decision was taken in the parliamentary party meeting of the alliance held here at Parliament House prior to the session of the Senate. APDM media coordinator Saifullah Gondal briefed the reporters after the meeting that the alliance has decided to sit on the opposition benches on the basis of principled stand.

“APDM boycotted the February 18th general elections on its principled stand on the restoration of judges and the issue remains still unresolved” added Gondal.

“So how can we be on treasury benches as our demands lie unfulfilled. However, we are still firm upon our stance on the restoration of judiciary” he said.

He further added that APDM would request to the Chairman Senate for the allocation of separate seats in the House.

Seven Senators, having allegiance to the APDM, including, Professor Khurshid Ahmad, Professor Ibrahim. Dr. Muhammad Saad, Abdur Rahim Mandokhel, Raza Muhammad Raza, Afia Zia, Dr. Abdul Malik attended the meeting.
