Good news soon: PM

Islamabad—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said nation will soon get good news on reinstatement of judges adding Murree Declaration will be implemented in letter and spirit.

“Democratic government believes in independent judiciary and nation will soon get good news with regard to restoration of judiciary. Murree declaration will be followed in letter and spirit in this respect”, he said this while talking to ruling coalition constitutional committee on restoration of judges here Friday.

Committee comprised senior federal minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Law Minister Farooq H Naik, finance minister Ishaq Dar and senator Raza Rabbani.

The prime minister said democratic government stands by its pledges made with the people. The committee should finalize its recommendations soon. Ruling coalition is united on restoration of judiciary, he added.

The members of committee apprised the prime minister of the progress made on the matter of reinstatement of judges and he was also consulted in this respect. It was told there was no deadlock on restoration of judiciary and the differences will be resolved through consultation.—Online
