Govt for taking all political forces along: Qaim

Khairpur— Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said the government wants to take all political forces along because it believes that the challenges which the nation confronts need popular support.

Commenting on wheat situation the Chief Minister said the crisis arose because of faulty policies of the previous government. He said the support price of wheat was not increased when it should have been.

Secondly, he added that incorrect assessment was presented before the nation and huge quantities of wheat were allowed to be exported to other countries. The Chief Minister said that to address the “Atta” crisis the government has decided to import 1.5 million ton of wheat and has accelerated the domestic wheat procurement process which would help ease the situation. He said the government would ensure sufficient stocks in all areas to ensure availability of atta to the consumers. The law enforcement agencies have been directed to check smuggling of wheat and atta.

He said the government of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would strive to serve the masses without any discrimination.
