Amir for friendly relations
between industrialists, workers
Karachi—Sindh Minister for Labor Amir Nawab has said the new
democratic government is paying especial attention to develop and
maintain friendly relations between industrialists and workers.
Both the parties should ensure industrial peace so that the province
could be brought on the track of development and prosperity, he said
while addressing a reception given in his honor by traders of
Ittehad Market in Malir last night.
Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani in his first speech had
lifted ban on trade unions and announced minimum wage of Rs 6,000,
he said, adding that implementation on the decision of wage would be
made soon after the notification was issued.
He said the government would take solid measures to protect rights
of workers.
Meanwhile, Sindh Minister for Labor Amir Nawab met delegations of
Peoples‘ Labor Bureau Sindh, Sindh Social Security Unit, Frontier
Colony UC-7, KESC Labor Union and Sawat Char Bagh Colony Nursery who
called on him at his office on Friday.
The leaders congratulated Amir Nawab on his induction in cabinet.
The ten-member delegation of Sindh Social Security Unit, headed by
unit president M Naveed Khan apprised the provincial minister about
the referendum and problems of workers.
The delegation comprised of Roshan Jiskani, Rao Rasheed, Syed Kamran
Akhtar, Imran Jillani, Waqar Ali, Bhopat, Habib Boneri and others.—PPI
