NUML holds quiz competition
Pakistan has fraternal ties with China: Luo

Islamabad—A interesting quiz competition on “Olympic Knowledge” was
held at National University of Modern Languages (NLML) here.
The competition was held in connection with the Olympic torch
arriving in Islamabad on April 16. The function was organised by the
Confucius Institute of NUML.
The Chinese Ambassador Luo Zhaohui was the chief guest in the
competition.
The other prominent personalities present on the occasion were Lt
Gen (Retd) Syed Arif Hasan. President Pakistan Olympic Association
and Mr Shan, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chinese ambassador said that they
enjoy and appreciate the cooperation Pakistan was extending with
regard to the holding of the Olympic Games being held in Beijing on
August 8 this year.
He said that Pakistan was the only country in the world which has
with close cordial and fraternal ties with each other. `Both the
countries were heatedly cooperating with each other economic,
defence and other fields, he said.Kir Luo Zhaohui also expressed the
hope Is’ that the existing ties would grow more and more in the
years to come.
Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Arif Hasan, President Pakistan Olympic
Association, in his address, said that it was a great honour for the
people of Pakistan for selecting Islamabad as one of the
destinations for the Olympic torch. He said that the Olympic torch
symbolizes the hopes and aspirations of the people world over. Arif
Hasan expressed the commitment that they would do utmost for making
the forthcoming Olympic games a resounding success.
