AIOU displays photos of sacred relics

Islamabad—Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has displayed here a photographic collection titled “Sacred relics of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him).

Over 20 prints of the sacred trusts have been exhibited with informative text and multimedia presentations while a book featuring the sacred trusts of Turkey is also exhibited for sale.

Vice Chancellor AIOU, Dr Mehmood-ul-Hassan Butt while inaugurating the exhibition said that the photographs of the sacred relics of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) and other spiritual personalities reflect their pious and spiritual life.

He said that the book based on the preservation and images of these relics entitled “The Sacred Trusts” has been put on display at the central library of AIOU.

“The philosophy of spiritual life is fading in today’s world, which has involved human beings into materialistic intricacies while such events provide opportunities to understand the religious values,” he remarked.

The displayed items include the photos of the emerald decoration, depicting gold ornament studded with rubies and diamonds, curtain over the door of the Holy Ka’ba, official stamp with the saying of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), letter of Muqawqis leader in which “Cufic” script was written on a piece of a darkened parchment, cooking vessels of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) , staff of Hazrat Musa (AS), decorations and the sacred sandals and seals.

The exhibition also includes a photograph of a copper plate bearing the inscriptions about the sword of Hazrat Dawood (AS), one side of the plate shows the “Nabateen” text whereas the other side has Arabic text.—APP
