Peace must for protection of people’s rights: Babak

Peshawar— Provincial Information Minister, Sardar Hussain Babak has said that the government would resolve the problems faced by the masses on priority basis and would ensure protection to the people by restoring peace.

He was giving live answers to the callers at the Radio Pakistan Peshawar Center’s programme “Rabta” here on Friday. Executive Producer Ameer Nawaz Marwat and Producer Fazal Kareem presented the programme under the supervision of Station Director Dr. Noor-ul-Basar.

In reply to a question, Information Minister said that restoration of peace is a major issue confronting the people of the Province which would be resolved on permanent basis.

Sardar Hussian Babak said that the government has inherited problems from its predecessors but the present government is competent and capable enough of resolving them. To a question, he said that wheat shortage is being created by hoarders and profiteers adding that the government would deal with an iron hand with these elements.

He said that Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti has telephonic conversation with Mian Nawaz Sharif over the issue of wheat shortage in the Province and the problem would be resolved soon.

Sardar Babak assured the callers that those areas in District Mardan that have been deprived of the sui-gas would be provided the facility adding that the government would focus on health and education sectors for the overall and uniform development of the Province.

To a question regarding the public sector hospitals, he replied that doctors and other public sector employees working in health facilities would serve the people to the best of their abilities.

Moreover, he said that unnecessary load shedding would be ended and steps would be taken for ensuring clean drinking water to the people. Provincial Minister assured construction of road linking Buner to Dagar Bridge besides announcing carpeted road and streets in his native constituency in District Buner.

He also assured that he would ask the concerned quarters to restore television service in Tehsil Matta, Chakasar and Dagar areas that were disrupted due to fault in the TV booster.

In reply to a query, he said that Pashto language would be made compulsory subject up to matriculation adding that Pashto channel ‘Abaseen’ would also be launched from Peshawar Center.

Furthermore, he said that duration of the Pushto programmes would be increased on the state run channels adding that due respect would be paid to all local languages as they part of our literature and culture. —APP
