Democracy has no chance while Musharraf President, says Wasti

Tahir Rashid

Rawalpindi—Senior leader and former Senior Vice President Pakistan Muslim League Kabir Ali Wasti says Aiwan -i-Sadar is formulating the conspiracies against newly elected national government, deposed judges, lawyers and democratic forces. Neither law nor order can prevail nor can democracy flourish in the country till President Musharraf is in the power.

Addressing a news conference here on Thursday he said, violent attacks on Arbab Rahim and Dr.Sher Afgan Niazi were the pre-planned game of Presidency.

He warned the Chairperson of PPP Asif Ali Zardari, President of PML (Q) Chaudary Shujat Hussain and Peoples Party leader Dr Babar Awan to hold their tongues against the lawyers because credit of restoring democracy goes to legal fraternity. The government should implement Murree Accord in letter and spirit and issue orders to restore the deposed judges immediately.

He alleged that President Musharrraf was exploiting MQM to break the national government. He demanded that the President should resign, notorious 58-2(B) be abolished and constitution be restored at the position of pre-12th October, 1979.
