Housing scheme for FG employees soon

Islamabad—Federal Minister for Housing and Works Rehmatullah Kakar has said housing scheme for federal government employees in sectors of G-10 and G-11 would be launched within next two weeks.

Talking to PTV, the Minister said 1000 housing units of category B and C would be constructed in G-10 and G-11 sectors each to provide government employees affordable accommodation.

“Ground-breaking ceremony of this housing scheme in these sectors will hopefully be held within next two weeks,” he said and added a similar scheme is also on cards to be launched in F-12 sector.

Besides, the government has planned to construct one million low-cost housing units across the country for general public to meet growing demands in the housing sector, he said.

Kakar said conventional as well as modern techniques of construction would be applied in this mega project of housing.

He said construction companies of China, Korea and Turkey have so far conveyed their expression of interests to Pakistan for participating in the countrywide housing scheme.

The Minister said the project would be put up in next meeting of the federal cabinet for approval.

He said a complete sketch of the plan would be presented within first 100 days of the new government.—APP
