Islamabad—Federal Minister for Labour, Manpower
and Overseas Pakistanis Syed Khurshied Ahmed
Shah said that government would provide complete
protection to the investment made by Overseas
Pakistanis in the country.
Karachi—The Banking Mohtasib (Ombudsman) is
dissatisfied with the attitude of local as well
as foreign banks operating in Pakistan towards
their customers. He said that all banks were not
thoroughly screening loan or credit card
applicants to determine their repayment capacity
and credit worthiness. The failure to do so had
resulted in subsequent delinquencies. He urged
banks to exercise prudence when granting credit
facilities.

Asia have assembled in Manila to help the Asian
Development Bank (ADB) formulate a new strategic
approach to increase access to modern forms of
energy for the one billion people in Asia
without electricity. Almost half of the world’s
population does not have access to modern forms
of energy. Many are still dependent on wood and
other traditional biomass fuels for cooking and
heating.

enterprises and government officials and tax
administration Authorities, especially the
policy makers, they further pointed out.
