Protest against misbehaviour
with Arbab
Rahmatullah Khan
Peshawar—The clashes between the two rival groups of Muslim Students
Federation (MSF) of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) spoiled the
protest rally of the party against the misbehaviour with ex-Chief
Minister of Sindh, Arbab Ghulam Rahim during session of the
Assembly.
The provincial leadership of PML-Q accused the workers of Pakistan
People’s Party (PPP-P) of creating disturbance among the peaceful
protest in favour of Arbab here in front of Press Club on Tuesday.
The police arrested the student waving a revolver. The rival
students of both groups of the federation had pistols, which they
took out against one another after clashes occurred. Both the groups
showing their sympathy towards ex-CM raised slogans and used abusive
language against PPP, meanwhile they started beating the rival
students with the flag sticks and the other protesters ran away to
avoid scuffle.
The busiest Sher Shah Soori Road was blocked for every kind of
traffic for almost one hour.
Earlier, the protesters gathered outside the Press Club recorded
their protest against the PPPP activists for misbehaviour with
former chief minister of Sindh Arbab Ghulam Rahim. The provincial
chief PML-Q women wing and MPA Nighat Orakzai led the male
protesters who were carrying placards and banners inscribed with
slogans against co-chairman PPP-P Asif Ali Zardari and his party
workers of Sindh for insulting Arbab. They also chanted slogans in
favour of PML-Q. Later, provincial president PML-Q and MNA Amir
Muqam addressed the protesters.
“They wished that the coalition government would remove rocketing
price hike but it started vandalism,” Mr. Maqam lamented. He said
that the claimants for democracy themselves were spoiling the
atmosphere of democracy, as they had done in Sindh assembly with
ex-chief minister. He requested Prime Minister to take serious note
of misbehaviour of PPPP workers.
