Raisani files papers for BA leader
Bhutani, Agha take oath as Speaker, Dy

Quetta—Parliamentary leader of the Pakistan people Party and designate chief minister of Balochistan, Head of Raisani Tribe Nawab Aslam Khan Raisani filed his nomination designate forms in the Baloshistan Assembly Secretariat here Tuesday.

PPPP which won 10 seats in the provincial assembly and succeeded to muster support of 61 out of 65 parliamentarians nominated Nawab Aslam Khan Raisani for the post of CM. No rival landidate filed papers.

Those who proposed and seconded him include Sardar Sanaullah Zehri (proposer) and Shafiq Ahmed Khan (seconder), Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani (proposer), Asmail Gujjar (seconder), Mir Asim Kurd Gailo (proposer), Mir Muhammad Ismail Bizenjo (seconder), Zamrak Khan (proposer), Abdul Khaliq Bashar Dost (seconder), Syed Ehsan Shah (proposer), Mir Asaddullah Baloch (seconder), Maulana Abdul Wasey (proposer), Syed Matiullah Agha (seconder), Mir Amanullah Khan Notezai (proposer), Hamal Kalmati (seconder), Mir Muhammad Salim Khosa (proposer), Mir Abdul Rehman (seconder )and Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail (proposer) and Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai (seconder).

It is for the first time in the history of Balochistan Assembly that leader of the house is being nominated unopposed and will be declared elected as leader of the House unanimously. Newly elected Speaker Balochistan Assembly Mir Mohammad Aslam Bhutani and Deputy Speaker Syed Matiullah Agha took oath during assembly session.

Outgoing Speaker Jamal Shah Kakar administered oath to incoming Speaker Mir Mohammad Aslam Bhutani who later administered oath to Syed Matiullah Agha of his office. Bhutani has served as Deputy Speaker. Aslam Bhutani of the PML ‘like-minded group’ and Shafique Ahmed Khan of the PPP had filed their nomination papers for the post of speaker, but the latter withdrew his candidature in favour of Bhutani.
