President, PM, Info Minister condemn

Islamabad—President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani have condemned the manhandling of former federal minister Dr Sher Afgan Khan Niazi by the lawyers in Lahore on Tuesday.

The president has directed the provincial govt to hold immediate inquiry into the heinous incident so that the culprit involved are brought to book. He also directed the concerned authorities to take special care of Dr Sher Afghan Niazi and his family and ensure his protection.

The Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani taking strong notice of the incident has also directed the holding of the immediate inquiry and to award exemplary punishment to the elements behind this heinous acts.

PPPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has also condemned the incident and said that it was the conspiracy against the democracy.

Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Punjab president Shahbaz Sharif, he condemned the manhandling of Dr Sher Afgan Khan Niazi, adding the agents of dictatorship are involved in the attack at Dr Sher Afgan Khan Niazi. Information Minister in a statement has condemned the torture meted out to Dr Sher Afgan Khan Niazi by lawyers.

Deputy Convener Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee, Dr. Farooq Sattar termed the Lahore incident of Dr. Sher Afgan’s manhandling as explicit act of terrorism. Dr. Sher Afgan who is a heart patient was badly attacked by these so-called flag bearers of law and justice.
