Meeting reviews Law and Order at Karachi University

Karachi—A meeting was held on Tuesday to review the overall law and order situation at the Karachi University campus following last week’s incidents of clashes among students’ groups and the display of arms.

A statement said the meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University, Prof. Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui and was attended by the Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Advisor on Campus Security and Student Affairs and senior professors and officials.

It said the meeting was briefed about the measures taken by the University administration for restoration of complete academic peace and normalcy.

In view of uncertain law and order situation and advice of the concerned officials, the meeting decided that as a precautionary measure the teaching will remain suspended on April 9 and 10.

The classes will now resume on April 11. However, the offices and all public dealing counters will continue to work normally on Wednesday and Thursday, it was further pointed out.—APP
