Poverty alleviation utmost
priority of govt: Qaim
Karachi—Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah Tuesday that said
poverty alleviation is the utmost priority of the government.
He said that they will accomplish the mission of assassinated PPP
chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
Sindh CM was talking to Incharge Bilawal House, Muhammad Urs Jokhio,
during his visit to Bialwal House, said a statement issued by PPP
Media Cell here.
Earlier, Syed Qaim Ali Shah visited the mausoleum of the father of
the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to pay homage to the
great leader of sub-continent.
In Bilawal House, he also offered fateha for the former prime
minister, late Ms. Benazir Bhutto and paid rich tribute to the her.
On the occasion a large number of invitees also extended greetings
to Qaim Ali Shah on his elevation to the coveted office of Chief
Minister Sindh.
Later, talking to the media, Syed Qaim Ali Shah recounted his
priorities as Chief Minister being maintenance of law and order,
health, education, social problems, job opportunities, power crisis.
He said that maintenance of law and order is most important for the
progress and prosperity of Sindh Province.
To a question, Mr Shah regretted the absence of MQM from the oath
taking ceremony.
He told reporters that PPP would pursue and hold talks with MQMM to
end their boycott of Sindh Assembly.
He told another questioner that initially a small Sindh cabinet will
be formed.
Qaim Ali Shah said that Sindh has abundant resources, but attention
was not paid to exploit them and solve the problems.
He told a questioner that PPP cannot be held responsible for
Monday’s unwarranted incident at Sindh Assembly. He held caretaker
government responsible for the same.
The Chief Minister said that on the directive of PPP Co-Chairman
Asif Ali Zardari, the Prime Minister is acting on the Party’s
manifesto so that problems of people of the country could be
