NKorea nuke talks must be resolved: US

Singapore — The U.S. nuclear negotiator warned that time was running out Tuesday as he opened a new round of talks with his North Korean counterpart to resolve a deadlock over the communist nation’s nuclear program.

Pressure builds for Zimbabwe poll result 10 days on

Harare — Zimbabwe’s opposition was Tuesday given the green light to pursue a legal bid to force a declaration of the country’s presidential election, 10 days on from the poll on Robert Mugabe’s future. While the high court held back from ordering the electoral commission to immediately release the results of the March 29 poll, Justice Tendai Uchena said he would consider the application on an urgent basis.

APHC demands probe into unidentified graves

Srinagar— In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has demanded result oriented probe into the recent revelations of about 1000 nameless graves in villages surrounding Uri in Baramulla. According to Kashmir Media Service, the demand was made during a sit-in demonstration at Pratap Park in Srinagar, which was led by senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmed Shah and attended by Shaikh Abdul Aziz, Fazl Haq Qureshi, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Yasmeen Raja and Zafar Akber Butt, besides relatives of disappeared persons

United Nations—Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has called on States to redouble their efforts to eliminate chemical weapons, in a message to a gathering of parties to the global treaty banning these instruments of mass destruction.
