What’s best for America..!

Robert Clements

President Bush stared gloomily at Senator Mc Cain on his TV monitor as Mc Cain addressed the Republican convention, “Where did he get such confidence? He talks better than me!” fumed the President.

“Maybe it’s his military training sir!” said his aide. “Military training?”

“Yes Mr President, you know Mc Cain is a war veteran, trained by our very own military; it gives them a hell of a lot of confidence! They feel they can face the world and win! You should go in for some training too sir?”

“Great idea but I’ll have to ask Condoleezza! There she is! Condy!”

“Hang on Mr President! I’ll just sort out this problem in Iraq with Turkey, be with you in a minute!” “Turkey? What’s happenin’ in Turkey?”

“Don’t worry Mr President I’ve got it solved, now if you’ll just wait a moment there’s Musharraf on the line!”

“Hey I’d like to talk to him, he’s my pal!” “He says he’ll chat with you next week when he’s free, I’ll just finish advising him about Sharrif, Mr President!”

The President impressed his aide with a few Karate kicks, then waited as his Secretary of State finished her conversation.

“Done?” asked the President, “Did he say hello to me?” “I’m sure he did,” said Condoleezza as her phone rang.

“Who’s it?” asked Bush. “Hillary!” “Ask Bill if he’ll have a round of golf with me this afternoon, I’m free! Is Bill there?”

“I didn’t ask!” said Condoleezza. “She wants to know, if we bring our troops back home in one lot will we have a Vietnam like situation with our soldiers, and whether we have enough psychologists to help?”

“Tell her..” “I already told her sir!” “What?” “It doesn’t matter sir! Now what was is it you wanted to ask Mr President?” “Whether I should go in for military training!”

“How many hours a day?” asked Condoleezza Rice winking at the aide. “It’s a full time thing ma’am, twenty four seven!”

“Go for it!” said Condoleezza nodding at the president. “There’s only one problem ma’am..” “What is it?” asked Condoleezza impatiently.

“I’m not sure even such training will help the President?” “Who cares,” whispered Condoleezza as she quickly took the aide aside, “ with him twenty four hours away it’ll surely benefit the nation; we have to do what’s best for America..”
