CCPO directed to hold enquiry against SHO Civil Lines

Lahore—IG Police Punjab taking serious notice, directed the CCPO, Lahore to hold enquiry against SHO Civil Lines for not registering a case against influential accused involved in preparing forged property documents and ring leader of land mafia.

CPO sources told APP here Sunday that SHO Civil Lines Anwar Saeed registered FIR 103/08 against Muhammad Mansha Khokhar and sacked Deputy Director Agriculture, Muhammad Tahir Faizi on the charges of preparing forged property related documents. The cars in use of both the accused were impounded at the time of arrest and automatic rifle, pistol, hundreds of rounds and bullets along with forged documents were recovered in the presence of complainant. The influential accused wanted to eliminate the complainant from the scene but arrest foiled their attempt.

CCPO had already suspended the Additional SHO Fazal Hussain and ASI Aslam Shafi for unauthorised interference and supporting the accused in the case. SHO despite clear order of CCPO Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal instead registering a case returned the weapons to influential accused. IG has taken serious notice and directed the CCPO for strict action against SHO for gross criminal negligence. Nadeem Butt, Inspector Complaint Cell, CCPO office has been appointed enquiry officer to submit report.—APP
