EDO (Revenue) awarded 5 years
imprisonment
Lahore—Special Judge Anti Corruption has awarded five years
imprisonment alongwith fine of Rs. 35,000/- to accused Ejaz Balouch,
Executive District Officer (Revenue), Mianwali for misusing his
powers and illegally allotting 180 kanals of agricultural land on
bogus documents.
According to details, a case against Ejaz Balouch, EDO (Revenue)
Mianwali and three other beneficiaries namely Ghulam Mustafa,
Shabbir Ahmad and Riaz Hussain was registered at PS Anti-Corruption
Sargodha on charge of misusing official powers and illegal allotment
of 180 kanal of agricultural land worth lakhs of rupees on bogus
documents.
It was disclosed during investigation that agricultural land,
located at Chak No. 108, was allotted in favour of Ghulam Mustafa on
bogus documents while Shabbir Ahmad and Rias Hussain were involved
in verification of all the fake documents. Javaid Rasheed Mahboobi,
Special Judge Anti-Corruption while acknowledging the evidence,
presented by the Anti-Corruption Officials, declared all the accused
guilty.
Special Judge Anti-Corruption also sentenced seven years
imprisonment alongwith fine of Rs. 35,000/- to Ghulam Mustafa, two
years imprisonment with fine of Rs. 25,000/- to Shabbir Ahmad and
five years imprisonment with fine of Rs. 25,000/- to Riaz Hussain.—APP
