IGP hands over 26 new mobiles to traffic police

Karachi—Inspector General Police Sindh, Azhar Ali Farooqui, Saturday handed over 26 new fully equipped mobiles to CCPO Karachi Niaz Ahmed Siddiqui for Karachi Traffic Police. In his address on the occasion, the IGP said the increased facilities for Traffic Police are necessary for better traffic flow and management.

He said by the end of this month, Karachi Traffic Police will be provided 100 Honda 125-cc motorcycles. He stated that a package of salaries and incentives like that of Punjab Traffic Police and Motorway Police is being prepared for Karachi Traffic Police.

IGP announced that in order to have a better image of traffic police, they will be provided four uniforms instead of two in a year while steps are being taken for ensuring better quality uniform cloth and stitching.

He pointed that discipline of any nation can be judged from their traffic discipline and performance of police is mirrored through traffic police.

He called upon the traffic police to perform their responsibilities with increased commitment and good behaviour. The ceremony was also addressed by DIG Traffic Wajid Ali Durrani and attended, among others, by CCPO Niaz Ahmed Siddiqi, AIGs Special Branch and Investigation, DIGs Headquarter, Admn, T and T, Special Branch, Investigation and other senior officers.—APP
