PPP govt to come up to expectation of people: Qaim

Karachi—The Chief Minister-nominate Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that his government will go all out to come up with the expectations of people.

He made these remarks while talking to the media before entering the Sindh Assembly house for oath-taking proceedings.

Out of 168 MPAs, 161 are taking ooath today and of them 25 were elected for the first time.

Talking to media PPP’s Fida Hussain Dero said that today we are feeling the absence of late Benazir Bhutto.

Makhdoom Jamiluzzaman said that we have given respect to PPP which has given respect to us and our life and death is with PPP. He said it is the responsibility of all of us to talk only about Pakistan and Sindh and said a strong Sindh will guarantee a strong Pakistan.

Jamiluzzaman said that in the previous assembly PPP had moved some bills for law making for welfare of people and we will take them up so that our poor people feel satisfied.

He said undemocratic traditions will now have to be discarded and we will have to work together for the welfare of our Province and people.

Former Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim said that PML(Q) accepts the accord reached between PPP and MQM.

He said PML will not participate in the elections for Chief Minister, Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

PPP MPA Sussai Palejo said that an era of democracy has started because of the sacrifice given by Benazir Bhutto.

Zulfikar Mirza, husband of Speaker National Assembly Dr Fahmida Mirza said that we will make every effort to fulfil the political desires of our great leader Benazir Bhutto.

MQM’s Rauf Siddiqi said that democracy has infused confidence in the elected representatives of people. Abdul Razaq Rahul of PML(Q) said that in the parliamentary party’s meeting today it has been decided that PPP would be allowed to govern smoothly.—APP
