Quetta —Pakistan People Party Balochistan
chapter has nominated Nawab Muhammad Aslam
Raisani parliamentary leader for the new
assembly of Balochistan. The decision was made
in a parliamentary meeting of the party at
Sarawan House, the provincial headquarter of the
PPP. Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani
addressing a press conference after the meeting
said that the party had unanimously decided to
nominate him as the parliamentary leader of the
PPP in Balochistan Assembly. Muhammad Sadiq
Umrani has been named the deputy parliamentary
leader.
Muzaffarabad—The police in AJK formally launched
a “Cyber Crime Control Unit” here on Sunday,
advising the cyber-café owners to maintain
record of the persons using their facilities to
stop cyber crimes. Based in the Central Police
Office (CPO) in the state capital, the unit
comprises two police officials – Assistant
Superintendent Police, Mir Abid and sub
inspector, Khawaja Siddique – the unit would
handle cyber crimes, region’s police chief Javed
Noor, revealed. Flanked by DIG Muzaffarabad
range, Shaikh Tahir Qayyum, the police chief
told newsmen that he had earlier held a meeting
in his office with several internet café owners
of the state capital with a view to create
awareness among them about their role to check
the illegal use of internet.

Jammu—Many rare animal and bird species have
recorded a population increase in Jammu and
Kashmir over the years, but heavy snowfall this
winter has affected wildlife adversely. Wildlife
warden Nasier Ahmad Kitchloo said here that
several hundred birds and animals - including
some rare species - had been affected by the
‘un-precedented snowfall’ last month. ‘Our
department swung into observing wildlife
behaviour and noted that several hundred
pheasants, leopards, wild cats and other small
mammals had been affected,’ he said.
Srinagar—Kashmiri pro-freedom leaders have
reacted sharply to the statement of co-chairman
of Pakistan People’s Party Asif Ali Zardari that
he was willing to set aside Kashmir dispute
while engaging with India. The chairman of Jammu
and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad
Yasin Malik said “nobody will be allowed to
overlook sacrifices of the Kashmiris.”
