1,369 arrested during combing operations in Punjab on Eid

Lahore—Just when Eid-ul-Azha was being celebrated across the country, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) along with the police in the province of Punjab were busy in targeted combing operations against terrorists, their aides and banned groups.
Security forces on Thursday claimed to have arrested at least 1,369 suspected persons during search combing operations across the largest province of the country.
Giving details of the recent operations in the province on Thursday, Mushtaq Sukhera Inspector General Punjab said that LEA and police department in several cases wanted a majority of the arrested people and added, they have also recovered arms and ammunition from at least 305 hardcore militants.

The IG Punjab further revealed that around 27,000 people were also questioned and interrogated by the police officials about their activities and related matters during the last five days.—INP
