10 terrorists killed in encounter


Sheikhupura/Quetta—Six terrorists were killed in an operation by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Sheikhupura on Saturday night. CTD had got information about movement of terrorists, who were traveling on one car and two motorcycles towards Sheikhupura. They start firing on CTD officials, whereas CTD countered and killed six of them. While four of their accomplices managed to flee. Sources said that CTD officials on a tip-off stopped a car and two motorcycles near Shikhkupura bypass but the terrorists opened fire on them and resultantly six terrorist were killed.
The police said that the terrorists belonged to banned Tehree-e-Taliban Pakistan. Police claimed to have recovered three Kalashnikovs, three pistols, two kilogram explosive material and bullets from the custody of the killed terrorists.
Meanwhile, it is reported from Quetta that two militants were killed in an encounter with law enforcement agencies in Makran, while three bullet riddled bodies were recovered from Baleeda, area of Balochistan. Security sources said that one militant was killed in an encounter with law enforcement agencies in Kech area. LEAs conducted search operation in the area and arrested six suspects.
Meanwhile, an armed man opened fire on the security forces and resultantly the assailant was killed by security personnel. On the other hand levies recovered three bullet riddled bodies from Baleeda area of kech. Levies officials shifted the bodies to the hospital for identification. Two suspected terrorists were killed as a result of gun battle with Frontier Corps in Quetta, officials said. According to reports, terrorists belonged to a banned outfit and started firing as they were asked to surrender. After they were killed, arms and explosives were also recovered from them.—SABAH
